SECRET AGENT - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs)
MAKING MY TEAM
How many people I have on my team?
Technically there is no limit, but if you have more than 8 people on your team you may find it a bit difficult to keep everyone together. 2 - 6 players is recommended for the easiest group to move, and the most fun to play with. Do I have to be on a team? Can I be a Rogue Agent and play solo? You sure can! Is there are limit of how many teams can play on the day? Not at this stage, but it is very important that you REGISTER YOUR TEAM at least 2 weeks before the event so you have a Game Items Pack assigned to your team. Can children play? This game is recommended for players 18 and up. The game can involve a lot of running and up to four hours of walking through the city. We have had some children playing our previous Adventure Quest games in the past and none of them have ever made it all the way through the game as they have quickly become exhausted. The clues and design of the game are also intended for adults who have maps, resourcefulness and stamina and may be difficult for children to decipher. Can Under 18s play? Part of the game also involves entering licensed bars, in which under 18s will need to have a guardian present. COSTUMES and PROPS
Can we dress as anything we like?
Please do! Can I dress up as James Bond / Xena / Finn the Human? Yes. Wear whatever you like. What weapons can I carry? Anything that is foam, bendy plastic, or an obvious toy is ok. No metal weapons or sharp edges allowed. Laws about weapons in public have recently gotten tighter: anything that could be mistaken for a weapon is now considered a weapon, including antique reproduction guns. It’s not worth getting arrested over – bring the plastic stuff instead. Can I bring my dog? Yes, but it will prevent you from entering some of the buildings where there are clues. BEING A GAME CHARACTER
Can I join the game as a Game Character, also known as a Non-Player Character (NPC)?
Yes. Use the CONTACT FORM or email [email protected] with 'Secret Agent NPC Volunteer' in the header and state what type of character you would like to play, or how you would like to help. NPCS or Player Characters are now being cast into roles. Bring own costume come tyo NPC meeting - crucial previous acting experince not necessary |
PLAYERS SIGN-IN
What does the Team Captain do?
The Team Captain is the contact person between your team and the game organisers / Mission Control. If something has changed in the game, e.g. a roadblock has caused a Checkpoint to be moved, we can notify your team by texting your Team Captain. The Team Captain is also responsible for organising their team members and making sure that all players have registered and paid, and get to the Sign-In on time. What happens if a player on my team is late? There will be a 10 minute window after the start of the race where players can still sign in, pay their $25 and join their team en route. Your Team Captain must have registered your team at the Treasury Gardens, picked up the game items and been present for the Gameplay Speech, which will inform players of the game rules and give the starting clue What happens if my entire team is late? You will have a 10 minute window after the start of the game to get to the Treasury Gardens, sign up your team, choose your Team Captain, pay your $25 per player, collect the game items and receive the first clue. A few of the Sign-Up crew members will wait for any late-comers. If your team misses out on the Sign-Up you will be unable to play the game. SOLVING THE CLUES

If you bring a detailed street map and are willing to ask people for help you will be ok. Can I use maps and apps on my phone? Yes. Use anything at your disposal to solve clues.
