THE FEAST OF THE FAE FOLK
3 - 5pm Fitzroy Gardens - Secret Hollow

This is a grand public procession of Faeries, Fae folk, goblins, imp and gnomes, Seelie and Unseelie creatures, and all manner of fantasy creatures.

Our Faerie Rade will be a jubilant parade of magnificently costumed folk giving gifts, playing music with jingling bells and trailing bubbles in the air.

This event is an open to everyone who loves to dress up and participate in creating beauty, whimsy and fun. People of all ages are invited to attend.

The only requirements are that you attend in costume and support the spirit of good will, joyous merriment and rampant creativity.

THE RADE

Our Faerie procession will proceed through the city down a few main streets.

Please keep an eye on any little children attending when crossing through traffic and take care of each other as we move as a group.

Total walking time will be about 55 minutes at an easy pace, with at least 2 major stopping and marshalling areas along the route to allow slower walkers to catch up. The procession will begin at 2pm.

THE FEAST

Bring your baskets and picnic lunches, snacks to share, goblets and bundles of delectables.

Everyone is invited to gather in a large picnic in the park after the Rade.

If you are bringing bundles do your best to 'glamour' them as faerie bundles and keep them in the visual theme. Wicker baskets are good, or bundles wrapped in a decorative cloth.

THE GATHERING

We will meet and organise the procession in the Treasury Gardens park before we set off as a group.

You can use this time to meet and mingle with the other fae folk, or perhaps get your photo taken by an event photographer.

You can leave your bags with the Bag-Minder so you don't have to carry anything heavy during the walk.

BE KIND TO THE ENVIRONMENT
AND LEAVE NO TRACE

Remember to pack a small plastic bag with you to collect food wrappers and any general rubbish. Please help us to keep our parks beautiful and enjoyable by picking up any stray rubbish around.

When you leave the picnic area at the end of the day please gather up any bits of stuff that may have blown away from you or towards you, including costume bits that may have fallen. Leave nothing on the ground but grass and leaves.

We very much appreciate your help - every little bit of rubbish you pick up is helpful!
